A small closet for my mother, Small, refined, and created with love.
While I was making this small closet as one of my first school assignment. I chose not to use a usual metal hinge but to make one from wood myself. Little did I know that this decision would have great influence on my way of woodworking later in my life. The base of this small closet is made from board material, with a layer of walnut veneer. the front of the drawer (joinded to the drawer sides with traditional dovetails) and the door are made from solid American walnut. Loudly contrasted by the fiery Padouk and the Purple Heart for the grip pieces. It shows the diversity of life.
It is a blessing to know that my mother still takes her jewelry from its drawer every day.
